Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize the optimum process according to the picture quality of the original picture, by carrying out the light irradiation according to the specific region of the original, piling the light of the region designation onto the picture information at the reading time of the original picture and then carrying out the detection of the specific region by the image sensor. CONSTITUTION:Coordinate designating unit 5 has such constitution in that the inside lamp glows with push of the switch serving as the cover and then the light irradiates original 3 through L-shaped slit S. Then the region is designated by putting such unit 5 on each corner of specific region A on original 3. Then the reading scanning is carried out for one line of original picture from the lower side of contact glass 2 and by driving the optical system comprising illumination light source 6, mobile mirror 7 and image forming lens 8 each. Thus the light of unit 5 is piled on the picture information through original 3 by mirror 7 and then detected to be sent to image sensor 9 via lens 8. The sensor output reaches the saturation level exceeding the maximum level of the picture signal. With this saturation level, the discrimination is carried out with decision of the designated region. As a result, the optimum process is possible for the original pictures of different qualities.
