Abstract

PURPOSE: An enzyme is immobilized on a porous membrane that consists of the dense skin layer and the sponge layer in which pore diameters varies and the pores with mixmum diameters gather to the center part, thus preventing the immobilized enzyme from releasing off while it is used and stabilizing the activity.
CONSTITUTION: In the course of the production of a porous membrane, the dope is casted on the glass plate in a prescribed thickness and coagulated in cold water into a film. The resultant film is pressed to make the pore diameter small at the farthest distance from the dense layer. Then, the enzyme is included in the membrane and immobilized by crosslinking. As a result, the immobilized enzyme is included in pores whose diameter is maximum at the center part in the cross section and becomes smaller as going away from the center. Thus, the membrane develops the anchor effect to keep the immobilized enzyme in the membrane and stabilize the activity even when used for a long period of time.
