Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify an external circuit system, by outputting after classificating the different signal charge families in an element, through the selection of different signal charge families before the detection, in detecting the electric charge after transferring it from a charge transfer circuit to a charge readout part. CONSTITUTION:At the end of a charge transfer circuit 2, gates 19, 20 for true signal charge and pseudo signal charge output are provided, and charge detecting sections 21, 22 are provided at a charge readout section 3 corresponding to them. Further, after the transfer of one stage in the presence of both the true signal charge and pseudo signal charge, each charge is transferred to a bit at left respectively. Thus, at the main transfer, the true charge is transferred and detected to a true charge detector 21 by making a true charge output gate 19 conductive. Further, the pseudo charge is transferred to a pseudo signal charge detector 22 by making conductive a pseudo signal charge output gate 20.
