Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect tubes with holes in a simple way with good working efficiency by locally compressing the surface of the tube, and measuring the change in the pressure in the tube based on its repelling force. CONSTITUTION:The apparatus is constituted by an air chamber having a contact part, a pressure gauge which measures the pressure in said chamber, a tube holder which faces the contact part, and a device which drives one or both of the contact part and the tube holder. For example, the tube holder 23 which holds the tube 2 is engaged with an overhead rail 1 via a hook 3. An air bag 4 having the contact part 5 is supported by an arm 7 over the tube 2. The arm 7 is freely moved downward by an arm supporting frame 9. In this constitution, the contact part 5 is compressed to the tube 2, and the change in the pressure in the air bag 4 is measured by a pressure gauge 6. Thus, the tube with the holes can be detected.
