PURPOSE:To readily alter the controlling function of a controlling device for a motor by integrating protection relays of various types in a unit to form a motor controlling relay and enable to alter the controlling function by a switch provided on an external terminal or a controlling relay. CONSTITUTION:A motor controlling relay 31 is formed by integrating protection relays of various types in a unit, and signals from a current transformer 8 for detecting a main circuit current, a current transformer 10 for detecting a zero phase current, start operation switches 12, 18, stop operation switches 13, 19, a change- over switch 20, and an automatic operation contact 21 are inputted to the relay. Predetermined input signal is processed in accordance with a control mode selected by a controlling mode change-over switch 32, and a controlling output signal is fed to the coil 3a of a solenoid switch 3, an operation display lamp 14, a stop display lamp 15 and a fault display lamp 17.
