A printing pattern is selected by the number of times or the time of turning-on of the stop switch. Therefore, a test mode counter 25 storing the number of pulses generated at every number of times or the prescribed time of turning-on of the stop switch, a pattern generator 26 which generates printing pattern data corresponding to the count output, and a buffer memory 27 where the output data is stored temporarily are provided.
