Abstract
PURPOSE:To transduce an acoustic signal to a digitized electric signal, by synchronizing the interference fringes caused by the reflected light of a coherent light with the vibration of a diaphragm and extracting it as an electric signal. CONSTITUTION:A coherent light is emitted from a light source 1 to a mirror body 4 stuck to a diaphragm 3 and then transmits through a half-mirror 2 to be reflected by the body 4. At the same time, a part of the light is reflected by the mirror 2. These reflected lights are turned toward photodetectors 5 and 6 to form the interference fringes. The interference fringes vary in accordance with the movement of the diaphragm to which the sound wave A.W is added. The fringes thus obtained are transduced to the electric signals by the photodetectors 5 and 6.
