Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the light transmission efficiency, to make the light source small-sized, and to increase a reproduction signal, by making a light beam from the light source project and reflect on the recording medium by a mirror having two total reflection surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A light beam from the linearly polarized laser beam source 1 is projected on the mirror 2 at 50 deg. incident angle. As for the mirror 2, one side 6 of the triangle pole and the other side 7 are both of the total reflection surface. And, the reflected ray on the surface 6 forms a focus on the surface of a recording medium 4 through a condensing lens 3. On the other hand, the reflected ray on the medium 4 is separated from the incident light axis, is reflected on the surface 7, attains to a photodetecting part 5, and the photodetection is executed.
