Abstract

PURPOSE: A brain metabolism improver that is made by adding a specific compound to a dimethylsulfoxide aqueous solution, thus causing no hemolyzation.
CONSTITUTION: A monosaccharide such as fructose is added to a dimethyl sulfoxide aqueous solution, preferably by 5W20wt% to give the objective brain metabolism improver. Dimethyl sulfoxide has activities of improving the circulation in brain and reducing intraceranial pressure, however, shows a side-effect of hemolyzation. The addition of a monosaccharide remarkably inhibits the hemolyzation to prevent the elution of blood pigment into plasma or urine.
