CONSTITUTION:The projected light image of a negative original partially reflected by a semitransparent mirror 10 is projected on a light volume observing surface 28 via the 5th and 6th mirrors 12 and 27. At the same time, the light given from a reference light source 29 that lights with a certain light volume is projected on the surface 28 through a reference density film 30 and the mirror 27 and at a position 32 near the projected image 31 of the negative original. The two light images thus projected are collated with each other to control the light volume of an exposure light source 7. As a result, the transmitted light volume of the same background part is always obtained. Thus the surface soil is avoided at the background of an object to be copied to ensure a high-quality copying.
