Abstract

PURPOSE: To clean a screen of an inverted circular truncated cone shape without exchanging the same, and improve separation efficiency by supporting said screen and a porous plate for reinforcing the screen rotatably at a high speed within a tank body of a cylindrical shape.
CONSTITUTION: The mixed fluid of fine swarf of synthetic resins and cooling water entering from an inlet nozzle 21 is rectified by the plural holes provided on the circumference in the lower part of the hollow shaft 7 of a rotary screen body 6 which is being revolved at a high speed by a driving device 5. This mixed flow enters the lower part of a screen 13 of an inverted circular truncated cone shape. While the fine swarf of the mixed fluid is being separated from the cooling water by the differences in centrifugal forces produced by the differences in inside diameter between the lower and upper parts of the screen 13, it moves upward and enters a blast chamber 13. The fine swarf flowing into the chamber 23 is discharged to the outside from an exhaust nozzle 24 by the exhaust wind force of fan blades 8. The clogged screen 13 is cleaned by blowing pressurized water from an injection nozzle 26.
