Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a record exhibiting excellent light resistance, water resistance and clarity with good discharging properties, by a method wherein finely divided pigment particles and dispersed in an aq. dispersion medium contg. a polymer having a hydrophilic structural unit and a hydrophobic structural unit to produce an ink which is then jetted to form droplets, whereby a record is made on a woven fabric by the droplets of the ink.
CONSTITUTION: Finely divided pigment particles are dispersed in an aq. dispersion medium having a viscosity within the range of 1W20cps, composed of a polymer having both a hydrophilic structural unit and a hydrophobic structural unit as the first component and an aq. liquid as the second component, to produce an ink. A preferred proportion of the hydrophilic structural unit in the polymer is 25W40%. A polymer having a MW of 1,000W100,000 is preferred. From the viewpoint of washing resistance, it is preferred to incorporate N-methylol-(meth)acrylamide into the polymer. The resulting ink is discharged through a fine hole having an opening diameter of 10W200μ by an ink jet recording method, and a record is made on a woven fabric by the resulting droplets of the ink.
