Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for copper plating and improve fatigue strength by a method wherein a raw material is formed by forging case-hardened steel, the whole surface is carburized and hardened and bearing surfaces are finished by means of abrasion, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The partition walls 5, 6 of a raw material 1 of case-hardened steel in which both cylinder type bearing sections 3, 4 are forged to blind conditions are removed by means of methods using no edge tool, such as forging, press, etc., and bearing surfaces 7, 8, a bearing section end surface 10 and a bearing end surface 9 as necessary are formed in shapes that grinding clearance remains. The whole surface of the raw material 1a is carburized and hardened, and strain is not removed after carburizing and hardening. The fixed dimensions of the bearing surfaces 7, 8, the bearing section end surface 10 and the bearing section end surface 9 as required are finished by means of grinding methods, such as grinding, honing, etc.
