Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound expressed by formula I (R is methyl or ethyl).
EXAMPLE: O-Methyl S-sec-butyl O-(4-chloro-3,5-dimethyl)phenyl phosphorothiolate.
USE: An inseticide, an acaricide, a nematocide and a germicide having a wide insecticidal spectrum and improved activity particularly against injurious insects of rice plants, vegetables, apples, etc., and capable of exhibiting a control effect on blights of oats caused by Puccinia coronata in an amount of 1W50ppm.
PROCESS: 4-Chloro-3,5-dimethylphenol is reacted with an O-alkyl S-sec-butyl phosphorochloridothiolate of formula II (X is halogen) in the presence of an acid acceptor, e.g. a trialkylamine or pyridine, in a solvent, e.g. ether or benzene, to give the compound of formula I.
