Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the period of on and off of a current for the coil of an electromagnetic powder type clutch to reduce vibration during slow rotation, by multiplying the frequency of ignition pulses.
CONSTITUTION: Ignition pulses from an engine are applied to a terminal J and changed into rectangular waves by a shaping circuit 46. The frequency of the rectangular signal is doubled by a frequency multiplier circuit 50. After that, the frequency-doubled signal is changed into a signal of prescribed width through a differentiation circuit 47 and a monostable multivibrator circuit 48. The signal of prescribed width is applied to a drive circuit 49 to energize a clutch coil 7. Since the current of the clutch coil 7 is controlled by the doubled frequency produced by multiplying the frequency of the ignition pulses, the fluctuation in the torque of the engine at low rotational frequency can be held down. Particularly in the slow running of a vehicle, the vibration of the engine and the vehicle body can be reduced.
