Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-resolution and high-quality picture, by deciding presence or absence of the line correlation on a basis of the signal, which is delayed by one horizontal period, and the signal which is not delayed and by increasing attenuation of high-band frequency components included in the chrominance signal during the decided vertical noncorrelation period. CONSTITUTION:The composite color TV signal is inputted to input terminal 1 and is inputted to delay circuit 2 and is delayed by one horizontal scanning period, and this delayed signal is applied to deciding circuit 5 and adder 3. The composite color TV signal is applied to deciding circuit 5 directly, and the line correlation between this signal and the delayed signal is decided, and the output signal is generated when the line correlation does not exist. Further, the delayed signal and the signal which is not delayed are added by adder 3, and the addition result is applied to frequency characteristic variable circuit 6. The output of deciding circuit 5 is applied to this circuit 6, and high-band frequency components are attenuated only when the output signal is not output from deciding circuit 5, and the chrominance signal is suppressed effectively without losing luminance signal components, thereby obtaining a high-quality picture.
