Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the letter of typewriter, by a method wherein a printing is effected in such a manner as attracting a high-magnetic type by means of an attracting device located in a platen.

CONSTITUTION: Where a letter A is selected and a letter B is then selected, a numeral 10 in a typing key 17 is depressed. A signal transmitted from an input device 18 is then sent to a storing device 20 and a control device 21 via a relay 19. Since numerals 21, 17 are for the letter A and numerals 10 and 20 for the letter B, a pulse signal, advancing in a X axle by 11 in a negative direction by an equality of 10-21=-11, is sent to an X axle pulse motor 14. Where the numeral 20 in the printing key is depressed, a pulse signal, advancing in a Y axle by 3 in a positive direction by an equality of 20-17=+3, is sent to a Y axle pulse motor 8. A detector 22 ascertains that positioning is complete, and an instruction signal is sent to the type attracting device 7. The type is then attracted for performing a printing operation. Where there is a less number of letters available like a KANA (Japanese syllabary) typewriter, a part of a 360° circumference of a letter drum can be eliminated.
