Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the response speed of the system and prevent malfunction by allowing a spare circuit to standby by maintaining its output voltage roughly at a specified value at the time of parallel operating plural constant voltage circuits by connecting these to a common load. CONSTITUTION:Constant voltage circuits A, B having the same constitution are connected to a load RL respectively via reverse-current-blocking diodes (D) 6, 6'. The bases and emitters of pnp transistors (TR)3, 4 are connected across D6, 6', and these collectors are connected to the reference voltage terminals of reference power sources 4, 4'. If the state that the circuit A is supplying power and that the circuit B is not supplying power is assumed, D6 conducts and voltage VF1 is generated across the same, and TR3 is nonconducting. Hence, no influence is given to the reference voltage signal VR1. On the other hand, the output voltage of the circuit B decreases and TR4 conducts, then the reference voltage signal VR2 rises to high voltage and increases the output voltage V2, thereby maintaining the same roughly at (V0-VBE). Hence, the normal electric power is supplied immediately in the event of an abrupt change in the load or in the event of trouble in other power source.
