Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a spectacle frame lighter in weight and more fashionable, and obtain the frame which has less secular change of the binding strength between lenses and the frame and is suited for plastic lenses, by substituting the entire part of rims with fine wire materials. CONSTITUTION:In order to couple lenses to a frame, a groove is disposed over the entire outside circumference of each lens, and a fine wire is fitted in the outside circumferential groove of such lens, thereby enclosing the outside circumferential groove with the fine wire. This fine wire is fixed to temples 2 and a bridge 3 by bonding or jigs. The fine wire consists of a high polymer material having elasticity such as plastics or rubber or superelastic alloy material such as Ni-Ti, Cu-Al-Ni, Cu-Au-Zn, Cu-Zn-X (X=Si, Sn, Al) or Ni-Al. The fine wire is made a slightly shorter with respect to the circumferential length of the spectacles lenses, by which it is put into the elongated state and the spectacle lenses are strongly held to the temples and bridge.
