Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the stepping error of a rotor due to the assembly error of a stator, by providing one stator with at least two different phase magnetic poles which are likely to cause the stepping error and by assembling two such stators with each other. CONSTITUTION:In a polyphase step motor, for example, a four-phase step motor, magnetic poles 18a, 18b and 20a, 20b for two different phases I, III are provided in one stator 16 and have a spacing of 180 deg. in electric angle and other magnetic poles for two different phases II, IV are provided in another stator 17 and have a spacing of 180 deg. in electric angle. Coils for prescribed phases are provided around the magnetic poles of the stators 16, 17. These stators are assembled with each other so that they have an electric angle difference of 90 deg. and face a rotor 6 comprising a permanent magnet 7 and soft-magnetic members 8 having numerous teeth on their peripheral surfaces. This results in preventing a stepping angle error from being caused by the assembly error of the stators 16, 17 in two-phase excitation.
