Abstract

PURPOSE: The thawing unit is made up from a metallic base plate provided with an embedded heater and metallic needles that are set on the base plate, thus thawing frozen products in a short time thoroughly to the inside part.
CONSTITUTION: Electricity is applied to the heater 3 embedded in the metallic base plate 1 to heat the metallic needles 2 that are set on the base plate 1. Then, a frozen product 5 is placed on the needles 2 and pressed from the upside. Thus, the parts which contact with the needles 2 are heated, thawed and become soft and the needles stick into the frozen product 5 gradually until the frozen product comes into contact with the upper surface of the base plate 1. In this state, the heat of the base plate 1 that is kept to, e.g., 15°C with the heater 3 and the temperature- sensing switch 4 is transmitted through the upper surface of the base plate 1 and the needles 2 and the frozen product is heated from both the outside and inside, thus the thawing is completed in a short time.
