Abstract

PURPOSE: To collapse a pinhole, to smooth surface and to improve quality by subjecting a base metal to build-up welding and subjecting the deposited metal in an unsolidified or red hot state to roll working.
CONSTITUTION: The deposited metal 2 in an unsolidified or red hot state soon after subjected to dropping of the molten metal from a filler metal 6 to alloys 1 which are base metals is subjected to roll working with a roller 7 as the post process of the same moving welding. At this time, the roller 7 is attached in a movable state to the leading end of a push bar 8 which can slide in a guide 9 provided integrally with a torch 4 and the inside part near the leading end of the push bar 8 in contact with the roller 7 is designed into cooling construction 11 such as for water cooling, whereby the pinhole defects of the deposited metal 2 are crushed and at the same time, the surface is reformed smooth; also, the fins 2a which are the excess metal of the deposited metal 2 are thinly overhung and left. If a cutter 10 is mounted, cutting is made cooperatively with said process.
