Abstract
PURPOSE:To simply perform replacement of the subject switch by having a construction wherein a body case and an optical fiber can be removed or installed freely by means of a plug. CONSTITUTION:A connecting convexed section 51 is inserted into a concaved connecting section 31 and is installed in such a way that a claw 55 provided on a plug 5 is connected with a tongue 15. In this state of installation, the protruded sections 53 and 54 of the plug 5 are inserted to the two chambers 33 and 34 in the concaved contact section 31 and the exposed portions of optical fiber cores 41 and 42 come in contact with or are positioned in close vicinity of the points of a ray irradiating element 25 and a ray receiving element 26. In order to have an excellent airtightness at the time of installation, an O-ring type packing material 52 is placed around the convexed contact secion 51. An erroneous installation can be prevented by properly arranging the combination of a concaved section 35 provided on a member 13 and a convexed section 56 on the plug 5.
