Abstract

PURPOSE: To slacken a brake easily with a simple device when a pressure fluid source goes wrong by a method wherein a pressure fluid reservoir is connected with a spring brake cylinder through a three-way transfer valve provided on a suction and exhaust duct of a spring brake cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: When the supply of pressure air to suction and exhaust pipes 2a, 2 is cut by a trouble on the pressure air source system or by other causes, if the trouble is detected and the solenoid 20 of a three-way electromagnetic transfer valve 13 is excited automatically or manually by means of a switch and the like, the transfer valve 13 is changed over, the suction-and-exhaust valve 17 is closed, the suction valve 18 is opened, the suction-and-exhaust ducts 2 and 2b are broken and a parallel duct 14a is connected with the suction-and-exhaust duct 2b. Therefore, the pressure air in a pressure-air reservoir 16 is supplied to an air pressure chamber 1a of a spring brake cylinder 1 through this connecting passage and a piston is moved to the left against a spring 7 so that the brake can be slacken.
