CONSTITUTION:Cam gear 12 with cam 12b is provided with the 1st-3rd projections 12g, 12e and 12m and rotated in direction E by driving motor 14. When playback operation lever 2 and fast-forward operation lever 4 at the stop positions are pushed, gear 12 rotates in direction E to hook the 2nd projection 12e and arm 9 together via operating lever 8 and locking arm 9. Simultaneously, heads 17 and 18 are moved to the intermusic detection positions in the figure through trigger arm 10 and subchassis operation arm 11, thereby coming in soft contact with a tape. When a playback signal arrives in this state, operation lever 4 is unlocked from gear 12, which rotates to hook the 1st projection 12g by arm 9, pushing up heads 17 and 18 to playback positions. Thus, the structure is simplified and the cost is reduced.
