Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately reproduce the traveling or turning characteristic test of a speed-change steering gear on a bench by providing braking gears and braking- driving gears in parallel to each other. CONSTITUTION:Power distributing gears 8 and 8' provided on the output shafts 3 and 3' on both sides respectively divide the driving force from a speed-change steering gear 1 into two. Braking gears 9 and 9' apply traveling resistances to the driving forces outputted from output shafts 10 and 10' of the power distributing gears 8 and 8' through torque meters 7 and 7'. Braking-driving gears 11 and 11' provided in parallel to the braking gears 9 and 9' apply turning resistance to the driving forces outputted from output shafts 12 and 12' of the power distributing gears 8 and 8' through torque meters 7 and 7' according to the turning direction of the speed-change steering gear 1. The braking gears 9 and 9' and the braking- diriving gears 11 and 11' are controlled by the control signals corresponding to the deviations between the detection signals from the torque meters 7 and 7' and the torque command signals.
