PURPOSE:To correct a mixed collor caused by the fog phenomenon, by the processing by subtraction operation over the electric signals of two or more kinds separated according to a chroma filter making a mixed color component signal as the coefficient. CONSTITUTION:In a solidstate image pickup device, when the incidences 5, 5' are radiated on the photo detection element 1, the electrons 6, 6' produced with the incident light 5 are not fetched to the photo detector 1 of itself, but diffused in the substrate like 7, 7' and fetched to the vertical shift registers 3, 3', allowing to produce fog phenomenon. Thus, the output signal of the color solidstate image pickup device is separated into two or more electric signals corresponding to the chroma filters, and the subtraction operating processing is made to the two or more electric signals separated, by taking the mixed color component signals produced with the fog phenomenon as the coefficient.
