Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a brake housing and surely release a cam plate from brake discs, by concentrically arranging a cam shaft with a brake shaft and mounting a control lever to the end of the cam shaft. CONSTITUTION:A cam shaft 49 is concentrically arranged with a brake shaft 27 and a control lever 51 is mounted to the end of the cam shaft 49. In this way, the control lever 51 is never located radially at the outside of brake discs 35 to eliminate the necessity of providing a support part of the control lever 51 at the side of a brake housing 29, thus the construction of the brake housing 29 can be simplified. While a cam plate 37 and diaphragm spring 52 are not relatively rotated to permit only a bending motion of the spring 52 and eliminate possibility of wear in inner and outer circumferential edge parts of the spring 52, thus capable of surely returning the cam plate 37 to the side of a cover 42 when a brake is not in operation.
