Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the device smaller in size and its operation simple and expand the visual field by providing an image pickup optical system which reflects and conducts images to one end of an image fiber and its rotative driving mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical end casing 3 consisting of plastics or the like is mounted to the leading end of an image fiber 2 which is circumferentially covered with a flexible sheath 1. A lens 4 and a motor 5 are disposed therein and a prism 7 for image pickup is mounted to a shaft 6. A lens 11, a motor 12 revolving synchronously with the motor 5, and a prism 14 for projection in its shaft 13 are disposed in the casing 10 in the trailing end part of the image fiber 2. The images transmitted from the image fiber 2 via the prism 7 are projected onto an annular screen 15 by the prism 14. Thereby, the device is made smaller in size and its operation simple. In addition, its visual field is magnified.
