Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the processing efficiency of a printer by moving a carriage at a low constant speed when the moving distance of the carriage is less than the sum of its original approach distance and leaving distance. CONSTITUTION:The sum of approach distance la and leaving distance lb is calculated firstly. Then, this sum is compared with a value set in register 8 in the area of RAM7. If the value in register 8 is judged to be greater than arithmetic value la+lb, the carriage is moved at a high speed with approaching and leaving runs. When it is judged to be less, on the other hand, the carriage is moved at a low constant speed without a carriage-driving motor out of timing. Consequently, the carriage is not moved unnecessarily, so that the processing efficiency of the printer will be improved.
