Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize the reflecting characteristics of glass and enhance the product yield by attaching a dummy member to the upper side of the glass over the full length so that it is set on the same level with the member and dipping the glass in an aqeuous soln. for reflection preventing treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Plate 1 is atached to upper side 2a of large-sized glass plate 2 so that it is set on the same level with plate 2. Plates 2, 1 are connected with attaching parts 3 of an H-section type at a plurality of places so as to eliminate a boundary gap (about 0.5mm) between them. Plate 1 is used as a dummy. Plate 2 with plate 1 connected is vertically dipped in an aqueous soln. such as a supersatd. aqueous soln. of hydrosilicofluoric acid and silica for reflection preventing treatment. Thus, a unifrom stable reflection preventing film is obtd. on the large-sized glass plate.
