Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the change in refractive index for the infiltration of moisture from end parts by keeping the distance between the effective lens parts of a lens array consisting of plastics and the end face of a lens array block at more than half the thickness of the effective lens parts. CONSTITUTION:Effective plastic lens parts 91, 92 are formed to a lens array block 8 of a copying machine or the like formed of plastics such as polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) by leaving a distance (l) from the end face of the block. If the distance (l) from the end face of the block up to the effective lens parts is kept at >=1/2 the thickness of the effective lens parts, it results in that, when the moisture infiltering from the end face of the block has arrived at the effective lens parts, the moisture having already infiltered from both faces of the lens has already spread over the entire part of the lens. Hence, the distribution in the refractive index in the direction perpendicular to the optical axis harmful for imaging performance does not occur.
