Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a power unit compact and high-power efficiency, by providing only an anode and a cathode as electrodes and by providing no AC electrodes specially and by generating DC components electrically.
CONSTITUTION: AC electric power of commercial power source 31 has the voltage adjusted by AC voltage regulator 13, and the output is dropped by transformer 19. This output is rectified by rectifying circuit 31 and is supplied to anode 17 and cathode 18. The trigger pulse from phase control trigger circuit 25 is applied to the gate of thyristor 36 connected in parallel to circuit 31 with opposite polarity, and a trigger pulse is generated in the part of a polarity opposite to the rectification output of circuit 31. Here, the positive part of transformer 19 is supplied across anode 17 and cathode 18 through circuit 31, and a metal is deposited electrically onto cathode 18. In the negative part of transformer 19, thyristor 36 becomes conductive according to the generation phase of the trigger pulse, and the current is flowed in the direction opposite to the output of circuit 31, and the electrodeposition metal of cathode 18 is dissolved. As a result, electrolysis and redissolution are performed alternately, so that the power unit can be compact and the electric power efficiency can be enhanced.
