CONSTITUTION: When the load current of thysistor current transformer 11a and the load current of thyristor current transformer 11b are denoted as ia and ib respectively, load current ib of converter 11b is preferred by maximum preference curcuit 20. The limit value of control advance angle β as the whole of the unit is determined on a basis of current ib by β limit setting circuit 21. As a result, each thyristor converter can operate stably without failure of commutation.
