Abstract
PURPOSE:To enlarge the breadth of spark advance of the igniter for an internal combustion engine by a method wherein the magnetic pole parts of the core for a signal armature are arranged in parallel with the axial direction of a rotor, while an extended magnetic pole part extending in the opposite direction to the rotating direction of the rotor is provided at the magnetic pole part confronting with a permanent magnet for the generation of a signal. CONSTITUTION:The permanent magnet 7 for the generation of the ignition signal is fixed in a groove 6 provided on the circumference of a flywheel 1. The signal armature 8 is consisted of the first magnetic pole part 9a provided at the position confrontable with the permanent magnet 7, a pair of the second magnetic pole parts 9b, 9b' arranged on the both sides of the first magnetic pole part 9a, the extended magnetic pole part 9d provided at the tip part of the first magnetic pole part 9a and extended in the opposite direction to the rotating direction of the flywheel 1, and a signal coil 10 consisted of coil parts 10a, 10b wound around coil winding parts 9c, 9c' being connected in series. The voltage between the both end parts of the signal coil 10 is outputted as the ignition signal.
