Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain strength, tenacity and durability for a molded synthetic resin spring for an automobile, by repeatedly folding a fibrous cloth tape in the longitudinal direction and continuously piling up the portions of the tape. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous cloth tape 5 impregnated with synthetic resin is repeatedly folded in the longitudinal direction and laminated without being cut off halfway, to manufacture a fibrous stack 6. The fibrous stack 6 is molded by an upper and a lower metal dies and heated to set the synthetic resin to provide a molded leaf spring. In the spring, the portions of the fibrous tape are laminated on each other continuously from one end A in the center to the other B on the outside. For that reason, the fiber content of each portion is equal. Therefore, the spring is excellent in strength, tenacity and durability.
