Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition having high stability, storable for a long period, and composed of a sulfhydryl compound, a chelating agent, adenosine triphosphate, Mg ions, hexokinase, glucose-6-phosphoric acid dehydrogenase, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition contains (A) a sulfhydryl compound such as reduced glutathione, cysteine, etc., and/or a chelating agent such as ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, (B) adenosine triphosphate, (C) Mg ions such as magnesium acetate, (D) hexokinase, (E) glucose-6-phosphoric acid dehydrogenase, (F) a disinfectant, and (G) a pH buffering agent. The amount of glucose can be determined by adding a mixture of the composition and NADP to the specimen, and determining the amount of the produced NADPH. The concentrations of the sulfhydryl compound and the chelating agent in the composition are adjusted to 0.1W 200mM and 0.01W100mM, respectively.
