Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the accuracy of detection, by detecting the signal defect by making use of the multiplied wave having a multiplying relation with the FM signal in case the defect is detected for the detection record signal picked up from the record disk of a video disk player. CONSTITUTION:The FM signal detected through the pickup is amplified by a preamplifier and then supplied to the input terminal in the form of the signal SA. Furthermore the FM signal is shaped into a rectangular wave through a limiter 3 to obtain the signal SB. One of these two signals is supplied to the full-wave rectifying circuit 5. The other signal is delayed by a certain time through a phase shifter 4 to be changed into the signal SC. The signal SC is then turned into a multiplied wave having a certain time duration, e.g., a double multiplied rectangulr wave through the circuit 5 to obtain the signal SD. This signal receives a discrimination whether it is within the prescribed frequency deviation by the signal defect detecting circuit 10. The signal SD is integrated by a low pass filter 6 to obtain the demodulated output SE that is proportional to the density of pulse.
