Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize the subject device whose need for a feeder being eliminated, by a method wherein, a high molecular material such as plastic resins is kneaded, an uniaxial extruder and a kneader, which serve as a feeder as well, are placed in parallel at an upper and a lower position. CONSTITUTION:Location of a sealing unit 15 in the middle of a screw 14 partitions the inside of a casing into a feed area 16 and a compression-extrusion area 17. The screw 14 is provided with a screw vane 14a, which feeds a material to the feed area 16, and a screw vane 14b which feeds the material toward an extrusion port 13 of the compression-extrusion area 17. Said screw vanes 14a and 14b are formed such that they excercise a screw motion in the reverse direction to each other. The material charged into a hopper 21 is fed to the feed area 16 by means of the screw vane 14a, and is fed through a kneading rotor 22 to the compression-extrusion area 17 where it is further carried to the extrusion port 13. The device is constituted such that the material fed is fed back to the extruder through a kneading process in the manner mentioned above, and the need for a separate feeder being eliminates and permits the miniaturization of the device.
