Abstract

CONSTITUTION: After housing opened fibrous materials in a container, a water- soluble coating agent solution, having good affinity to the fibrous materials, is contacted with the fibrous materials, the container itself is treated by a centrifugal separator so as to move the coating agent to the outside of the container by means of centrifugal force in order to remove unnecessary coating agent from the surface of the fibrous materials, and then the fibrous materials with the coating agent are dried to obtain a filter. Thus, the formation of ideal coating layer which is free of the application of external mechanical force and also of delamination and cracking is made possible.
