Abstract

PURPOSE:To absorb torque vibration effectively, by fixing plate springs and frictional members respectively to the outer peripheral surface of a hub flange and a side plate in the manner that they are urged into sliding contact with each other at a predetermined angle of torsion, and thereby varying the hysteresis torque according to the angle of torsion. CONSTITUTION:The base part 16 of a plate spring 15 is fixed to the outer cylindrical surface of a flange 3, and a frictional member 22 is fixed to the inner surface of the cylindrical part 21 of a retaining plate 5. When a torque is transmitted, plates 5, 6 are twisted to the flange 3 by the compression of springs 7. When the angle of twist or torsion is increased to a predetermined value, frictional member 22 rides over the top part 18 of the plate spring 15, so that they are urged into sliding contact with each other. Here, the frictional surface 24 of the member 22 is shaped such that friction acted between the plate spring 15 and the frictional member 22 is increased with increasing of the angle of torsion. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to vary the hysteresis torque according to the angle of torsion and to thereby absorb torque vibration effectively over the entire range of the angle of torsion.
