Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of tooth biting sounds at the gearing section of a variable speed gear by a method wherein the clutch releasing fork is kept pushed when the variable speed gear is in the neutral position and the clutch is kept interrupted irrespective of a clutch pedal stepping operation.
CONSTITUTION: When the clutch pedal is stepped on prior to the initiation of an idle operation, an electromagnetic valve 7 opens since an ignition switch 23 is OFF and a piston 11 of the first piston 6 is caused to reciprocate. Accordingly, the oil in a cylinder 9 is fed under pressure to the second piston via oil passages 15 and 16 and the clutch is interrupted through the clutch release fork 3. When a switch 23 goes ON in the above mentioned state (in which a neutral switch 24 is ON), the electromagnetic valve 7 is closed. Accordingly, even when the pedal 5 is released after the engine is started, the pistons 11 and 26 are kept at positions in which they assume their return strokes and the clutch is kept at its interrupted or unlocked position since both of the oil passages 15 and 16 are closed.
