Abstract

PURPOSE:To continuously measure the materials with different sizes transferred in sequence by an apparatus wherein matching with the master is carried out automatically prior to starting of continuous measurements and then comparative measurement is performed with respect to the master. CONSTITUTION:On a measuring stage C workpieces 1 with a size A are subsequently intermittently transferred to a measuring position. A position D right above this measuring point serves as a matching position with the master. Nasters 3 with different sizes A, B... are mounted on a rotary disc 2 and the master designated by a command is rotated downward to the position D. A detector 9 is rotated about a central shaft 8 by 180 deg. and lowered toward the measuring stage C so as to measure the workpieces 1 transferred. The shaft 8 is moved upward or downward every time each workpiece 1 is measured, so that a next new workpiece is measured in sequence. When the measurement of the workpieces with a size A is completed, matching with the master is carried out using a new master with a different size to allow the measurement of workpieces with a different size in the similar manner.
