Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform pleasant and economical heating operation to perform strong heating by a heat pump and an auxiliary electric heater at the initial period of heating starting and at the time of insufficiency in the heating ability, and driving only the heat pump after reaching the set temperature.

CONSTITUTION: When a switch 1 is closed to start the operation of a micro-computer 5, the output of a semiconductor temperature sensing element 2 for sensing the room temperature is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 3 and stored as a room temperature data TR in a memory device 8 in an predetermined period, and a set temperature TS from a room temperature setter 4 is stored in a memory device 9. On the reference of the set temperature TS from the memory device 9, the heater "ON" temperature T₁, a compressor "ON" temperature T₂, and a heater and compressor "OFF" temperature T₃(T₁<T₂<T₃) are determined. The temperature TR is compared with a room temperature data TR in a comparator 10, and when TR<T₁, a driving signal is emitted to the compressor 6 and the auxiliary electric heater 7. When T₃<TR, a stop signal is emitted to both compressor 6 and the auxiliary electric heater 7. Thereafter, when T₁<TR<T₂, only the compressor is driven, and when T₃<TR, it is stopped.
