Abstract

PURPOSE: When a foaming composition of unsaturated polyester is foamed, its curing is effected by irradiation of ultraviolet rays to produce titled uniformly foamed product with independency of curing time from curing temperatures.
CONSTITUTION: When a foaming composition containing (A) an unsaturated polyester resin, (B) a foaming agent and (C) a photosetting agent such as diphenylsulfide or benzoin is foamed, its curing is effected by irradiation of ultraviolet rays using a mercury lamp or something. When water or an isocyanate is used as component B, the amount is preferably 5W30pts.wt./100pts. of component A, when inorganic carbonate and an acid are used, the amounts of components B and C are preferably 1W5pts. and 0.5W3pts./100pts. of component A respectively. Further, when desired, the use of 0.001W0.05wt% polymerization inhibitor such as vinylbenzene is preferred.
