Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible to control the temperature of a spindle stock and to maintain high accuracy of finishing by a system wherein a pipe passage engirdled in the heat generating portions such as main spindle bearing and the like is formed within the wall of machine body and a refrigerant circuit is constituted of this piping passage as the evaporator of a refrigerator. CONSTITUTION:By the switching-on of a power switch 18, a refrigeration compressor 7 is started to operate and a refrigerant is liquefied at a condensor 8 and stored in a liquid reservoir 10. When the main spindle 1 is revolved for working operation, heat is generated at the bearings 2 and 2' are tends to rise the temperature of the spindle stock 6. When the temperature of the stock 6 reaches at the set temperature, the stock 6 is properly cooled to keep at constant temperature by means of a temperature regulator 17 and a flow regulating valve 11. As the number of revolution of the main spindle increases, the flow regulating valve 11 opens wider to regulate the flow of the refrigerant, enabling the control of the temperature of the stock 6 to obtain extremely high dimensional accuracy of products.
