PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for robust rolls and reduce the size of construction by making the rotating speeds of the respective driving rolls on the force-bening center side of an ingot lower from the upper stream to the lower stream, and using the driving rolls of the lowermost stream as braking rolls. CONSTITUTION:For example, the rolls 54, 56, 58, 521, 523, 525 which support the force bending center side surface A of an ingot 3 within the bending area alpha and leveling area beta of a vertical bending mold ingot guide route 5 are used as driving rolls. The rotating speeds of the former three and the latter three are made lower respectively in above-described order, and the rolls 58, 525 are used as braking rolls. Since the ingot 3 drawn perependicularly downward from a mold 1 is bent by the rolls 55, 56 and is compressively guided in the C1 direction, it is applied with the brake by the rolls 58. Thus, the ingot 3 successively curves itself toward the force bending center P side. Next, the ingot 3 is similarly compressively guided in the leveling area beta as well, and curves itself to the side opposite from P of the force bending center side, thereby assuming a horizontally straight shape.
