PURPOSE:To prevent thrust variation by a method wherein the installation spacing of the primary conductor group on the ground primary linear motor is provided in such manner that it is equivalent to the length of the secondary conductor. CONSTITUTION:In the case where the length of the secondary conductor (reaction plate) 15 on the ground primary linear motor is set at lg and the installation pitch of the primary conductor (linear motor) 7 is at lpm, the installation pitch of a primary conductor 7 is set so as to obtain lpm=lR. Through these procedures, the length of the superimposed section of the primary conductor 7 and the secondary conductor 15 becomes equivalent to that of the primary conductor 7 at all times irrespective of the installation pitch of the secondary conductor 15, and as a result, the thrust variation can be eliminated. Also, by having the installation pitch of lPR of the second conductor 15 coincided with the sum of the length lm of the conductor 7 and the length lR of the secondary conductor 15, the thrust variation of the entire vehicle caused by an end effect can be prevented.
