Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively prevent the corrosion of metals such as iron coating with calcium chloride brine by adding one or more kinds of compounds selected from sugar, its analogous compounds and starches to the brine together with an alkli hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:To calcium chloride brine are added one or more kinds of compounds selected from sugar such as glucose, its analogous compounds such as methylose, starch and its hydrolyzates such as low molecular dextrin together with an alkali hydroxide such as NaOH. The wt. ratio of the alkali hydroxide to the former compounds is preferably 1:10-10:1. Thus, only by combinedly adding a small amount of the above-mentioned anticorrosive each having high solubility to the brine, superior corrosion preventing propertiy to copper as well as iron is shown.
