Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform good one-side plating the both-side plating continuously and selectively by providing a backup roll to a coating roll movably in the steel strip feed direction, and further providing synchronizing rolls ascend-descend free. CONSTITUTION:A backup roll 4 is provided to a coating roll 3 freely movably in the direction perpendicular to the advance direction of a steel strip 1, and both rolls are shifted mutually in opposite directions to allow the end parts of the respective body faces to contact the end parts of the steel strip 1, whereby the occurrence of a bridging phenomenon in one-side plating is prevented. Further, if the pressing of the backup roll 4 in its perpendicular direction is adjusted, a predetermined coating weight per unit area is achieved. The synchronizing rolls 6 provided adjacently to the coating roll 3 are moved in a perpendicular direction and the steel strip 1 is immersed and passed in a hot dipping soln., whereby both-side plating is accomplished. The one-side plating and both-side plating is applied freely and easily in a short time with this mechanism.
